Unit 7 is looking for 2 special education teachers for the 2021-2022 school year. One position is located at Unity East Elementary School and the other is located at Unity Junior High School. Requirements: LBS 1 Certification Ideal candidates will have experience working with students with low incidence disabilities, the ability to supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for paraprofessionals, and have the ability to create a structured, organized, and routine-based classroom setting. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience as determined by a competitive salary schedule. A quick update on our Read-a-thon at East. Our students are doing a fantastic job with their reading and have read for over 56,000 minutes since we began! And thanks to our many supporters, we have also raised over $12,000 in donations for our school! The Read-a-thon continues until Friday, so keep encouraging your student to enjoy more reading this week!

Today all of our classes joined together online to listen to holiday music from our past music concerts and make cards for senior citizens in our community. We enjoyed seeing everyone, including those students who joined us from home today. Together we made over 200 cards to spread happiness and cheer!

On Friday, Dec.11 our Student Senate is hosting an Ugly Sweater Day. Everyone is encouraged to wear something cheerful and merry! At the end of the day Friday, all of our classes will be joining together to make holiday cards for senior citizens in nursing homes as part of the WIXY card drive. We're excited to see how many cards we can make to share with our community!
